August Savings Goal: Laptop

In July I decided to start saving for a new laptop before anything bad happens to the one I’ve been using for the past 5 years.

My plan is to take up extra bookkeeping and blogging/writing on the side, then use all the proceeds towards my laptop goal.

I will probably get another Dell laptop, just a normal XPS series, since I don’t need many extras.

 

Savings Goal – $1,300

August

  • Regular savings – $240 (pay myself first)
  • Side Bookkeeping – $130
  • Substitute teaching – $32
  • Freelance writing – $25

 

Total saved this month – $427

July savings – $150

 

Amount to go – $723

Feel free to leave me some good suggestions for laptops you recommend or use.

    I always have to recommend macs, sure a little bit more money but they always work. No virus problems they just work well, no registry issues they just work :)

    I’m saving for a laptop too. :-) I’m hoping to get it either at the end of this month or in October. I have no clue what kind I’m going to get but since it’s going to have to last me a while, I want to get a pretty good one. Right now, I’m around $600-ish in savings for it. Great job saving so much in 2 months; I’ve been saving for about a year.

      Thank you. I’ve been working really hard and taking extra side jobs so I can get one as soon as possible. I’m not 100% sure what type I’ll end up getting but I’ll post when I do, so hopefully it will give you some ideas too. Thanks for commenting.
