In case you haven’t noticed, the blog got a makeover! I’ve been working behind the scenes with Pretty Little Pixels to create a more colorful and inviting design for Careful Cents.
And I love it!
Of course there will always be things to tweak and update, but it’s heading in the right direction. This is the third major makeover the site has gone through over the past two years (or maybe it’s the fourth?).
It’s definitely come a long way since the launch in June of 2011!
Your Perspective is Unique
There are a ton of blogs out there that talk about finances, share tips on careers, and focus on being productive. But none of them approach it the way I do. I have a unique perspective and a voice that needs to be heard.
So instead of blending in and being “tame” with what and how much I share on this blog, I’m finally embracing what I love (and what I’m good at).
I love talking about financial organization and how I’m designing a successful leisure-business lifestyle. I’m also obsessed with building a supportive and encouraging community.
With all the daily content and constant media uproar, the online world can get lonely and completely overwhelming. But that doesn’t lessen the importance of sharing your perspective. It’s time to embrace your voice and dive in head first!

Business and Blog News
1. Featured in Glamour Magazine
A couple months ago a writer for Glamour Magazine reached out to me for a few quotes about handling finances as a twentysomething.
After waiting in anticipation, the piece has officially been published! And you can read my quote online or in PRINT, in the October edition of Glamour Magazine!
2. The Club Has 150 Members
The Careful Cents Club has been booming with lots of new people, and now we just passed the 150 member mark! Thank you so much to everyone who keeps spreading the word and helping our community of go-getters continue to grow.
3. Back Home in Texas
After spending the past 4 months in Denver, my fiance and I are finally back at home in Texas. I never thought I’d miss it so much! Even with it’s crazy weather, and even crazier people, I’m glad to be home.
It’s not easy running a business from a different office everyday, or trying to fit in time for calls and interviews while taking care of a sick family member.
But since having experimented with running a business from anywhere, I feel fully confident in my abilities — and have learned a ton of tips and tricks!
Change is in the Air
With the change of summer to fall upon us, I’m embracing the changes that are happening with my business. Along with the new blog redesign, I’ll be shifting gears throughout the rest of the year as I focus on a new project.
I hinted at it in last month’s progress report, but now — thanks to the support of my mini-mastermind group — I’m gearing up to launch a premium course.
What does this mean for you?
More value, more epic content and more awesomeness will be posted on the blog over the next few months! You’re going to get a more personal look at how other successful entrepreneurs run their businesses.
For example, this week’s most popular post was about the one tool I use to save 4 hours each week!
Going forward there will be a lot of focus on working smarter, being more productive and designing a lifestyle that fuels your passion — all while keeping your priorities, family and needs in order.
