There are a lot of cash-back apps out there, and the dozens I saw all had the spiffy design, clean branding, compelling features, and the like.

I’m sure there are hundreds–if not thousands–of other cashback apps out there. This is why this wasn’t an easy list to compile. With so much demand and such fierce competition, a thin line separates the winners and losers in this niche.

Or does it?

Although there are many great apps out there that serve similar functions, these 3 apps here are true standouts. Whether it’s millions of satisfied users, exceptional customer service, great percentages back–I’m talking extremely generous, and upwards of 10% to 20% or more in some cases–these took the cake.

So bust those phones out and get ready to start downloading… unless you don’t like free money, of course.

1. Dosh

If a bunch of cashback apps went on tour together, Dosh would be the headliner. The main event that you really came out for.

Dosh is one of the best money making apps out. And I know everybody says that about everything these days.

But considering you can earn up to 20% cashback (that’s cold hard cash–not points!) on everyday purchases and can withdraw it at any time, well… the description fits.

Once you reach their $25 withdrawal threshold (which, if you spend like most people, shouldn’t take you long) you’ll be ready to get your cash.

You can get it sent straight to your bank account, via PayPal or you can even donate it right in the app. What’s not to love?

How does Dosh work?

Simple as pie, friends. Just visit their site, click which app platform you’d like to download from, link your credit and debit cards to it (you get $5 for every card you link) and that’s it. You’re ready to start earning. But wait! In case you’re just skimming, aren’t reading this, and are still wondering “Is Dosh legit?”

Well, let’s start with their executive board: It’s packed with painfully smart people from companies like Google and PayPal. Next, onto their merchant partners. These are the stores they partner with. Some names you might recognize include: Forever 21, Sam’s Club, Sephora, Dunkin Donuts, Pizza Hut, Walmart, and many, many others.

2. Paribus

Paribus by Capital One is like having that crazy person who complains at the customer service desk working for you full-time, 24/7.

Unlike Dosh, which syncs with your credit and debit cards, Paribus scans your email inbox for receipts.  Once this nifty little receipt fetcher finds one, it checks if the price has dropped. Now get this: it auto-checks if you’re eligible for a refund of the difference.

If the refund request succeeds, you keep 75% of it. Paribus pocket the 25% difference. Not a bad deal! And if their refund request is unsuccessful, you pay $0, so it’s 100% risk-free.

Paribus saved me $10.64 on a late Amazon delivery.

This is another great feature (that they should market more because it’s awesome). It doesn’t just look to get your money back on past purchases. It also helps you get a refund on any late deliveries via Amazon. So if you shop on Amazon, this is an absolute must. You can learn more about it in our Paribus review.

I don’t even fret over late Amazon deliveries anymore because I know Paribus has my back.

It sounds cheesy, but facts are facts. So do your future self a favor and download Paribus.

If you signed up for Dosh and Paribus, it’s like you have your own protective detail. One watching your back, helping you earn on past purchases, and another secret agent in front, helping you save on what you spend in the moment. Pretty cool, right?

3. Rakuten

Rakuten is like that super-savvy senior citizen that knows everything, has nothing to prove, and has sharper wits than everybody.

They’ve been around since 1999 and they’ve helped millions of people save over a billion dollars. That’s so mind-boggling I could just leave it at that and tell you to go download it, but I won’t. Because it gets better.

They offer up to 40% cashback at over 2500+ stores.

How does eBates work? As per the big image above, stores pay Rakuten for bringing them customers and eBates splits the difference with you. No points or inbox clogging junk either. Just cold hard cash. Plus, just like Dosh, they have some serious partnerships in place.

Their retail partners include everyone from Amazon and eBay to Macy’s, Kohl’s, Walmart, and others. You can probably guess what my recommendation is.

That’s right, go download Rakuten right now. Act now to score a free $10 Walmart gift card or $10 cash bonus.
